Hello, I'm Dan Schauer, and I have planning expertise in land use, affordable housing and collaborative approaches to achieving greater community ownership.
Goal: Entry-level position in urban planning in Oregon or Washington state.
Profile: Strong background knowledge of urban planning practices and land use principles, based on Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University (2010) and related workplace experiences; exceptional communication and technical writing skills including use of all forms of communication; ability to develop working relationships with media, regulatory agencies, public officials, community groups, and private landowners; excellent analytical abilities and critical thinking skills.
My latest project was the Gateway EcoDistrict Pilot Study (www.ecogateway.net), which recommended catalyst projects and strategies to develop an EcoDistrict in the Gateway area in East Portland. The study was done on behalf of Portland Sustainability Institute from January to June 2010.
